BIOGRAPHY

Monique Van Genderen received an MFA from California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California, in 1991, and a BFA from the University of California San Diego in San Diego in 1987. Selected solo exhibitions include Bernier/Eliades Gallery in Athens (2006); The Happy Lion in Los Angeles (2005); Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, Ohio (2005); Howard House in Seattle (2005); and Locker Plant, Chinati Foundation, in Marfa, Texas (2004). Selected group exhibitions include Jacobo Karpio Gallery in San Jose, Costa Rica (2006); Wall Painting at the University of San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas (2005); Strictly Painting III: the Right Side of Painting at Voges and Partner Galerie in Frankfurt, Germany (2005); and Sight Lines at Galerie Michael Janssen in Cologne, Germany (2005). She is represented by Susanne Vielmetter in Los Angeles. Monique Van Genderen lives and works in Los Angeles.
