BIOGRAPHY

Anya Kielar (b. 1978, New York City) received a BFA (2002) at The Cooper Union School of Art and Science and an MFA (2005) at Columbia University. Selected Solo exhibitions include FACE at Rachel Uffner Gallery, New York (2010),and Anya Kielar at Casey Kaplan, New York (2009), Lady at Daniel Reich Gallery, New York (2007) and Anya Kielar at Daniel Reich Gallery, New York (2005). Selected Group exhibitions include Acts Are for Actors at Southfirst, Brooklyn (2010), The Ankles Bones are Higher on the Inside at Museum 52, New York (2009), NY PM Dawn at Taxter & Spengemann, New York (2008), The Human Face is a Monument at Guild & Greyshkul, New York (2008), and NY¨How to Build a Fire at Rivington Arms, New York (2006), and NY Wrong Number at Jack Hanley Gallery, San Fransisco (2006). Kielar received Martin Birbaum Scholarship in 2004, Columbia University General Scholarship in 2003, and the Leslie - Lohman Award for Visual Arts in 2002.
