BIOGRAPHY

Neal Rock (b. 1976 South Wales, UK) received a PhD in painting from the Royal College of Art, London in 2016, an MFA from Central St. Martins School of Art & Design in London in 2000 and an Honours BFA from the University of Gloucestershire in Cheltenham, UK, in 1999. He was an Artist-in-Residence at the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2007; received a Wales Art International Grant from the British Council in 2004; and was awarded a Virginia Centre for the Creative Arts Fellowship in 2001. Selected solo exhibitions include Torch Gallery in Amsterdam (2006); Grand Arts in Kansas City, Missouri (2006); fa projects in London (2006); Kontainer Gallery in Los Angeles (2005); Henry Urbach Architecture in New York (2004); and fa projects in London (2003). Selected group exhibitions include Jerwood Contemporary Painters at Jerwood Space in London (2007); Bay Arts Cardiff at The Lowry in Manchester, UK (2007); Near Dark at Donna Beam Gallery in Las Vegas (2007); Can Buildings Curate? at Galerie Lucy Mackintosh in Lausanne, Switzerland (2006); Landscape Confection at the Orange County Museum of Art in Newport Beach, California (2006); and Dubai at Kontainer Gallery in Los Angeles (2006). He is represented by fa projects in London, Torch Gallery in Amsterdam and Kontainer Gallery in Los Angeles. Neal Rock lives and works in Los Angeles.
