BIOGRAPHY

Gustavo Artigas (b. Mexico City, 1970, Lives and works in Mexico City) examines complex social relationships by presenting situations, often rooted in disaster, which are structured as interventions, scenarios, interactive situations and games. In late 2007, the Te Manawa Museum in New Zealand presented a solo exhibition surveying the last 10 years of Artigas’ production with an accompanying catalog. Selected exhibitions include Faites vos jeux! Art and game since Dada, Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, Vaduz, Liechtenstein; Liverpool Biennial, Liverpool, England (2004); OUTLOOK 2003; Arena – Society for the Advancement of Contemporary Art in Athens, Greece; and the Aperto of the 49th Venice Biennale (2001).
