Yanai Toister (b. Kibbutz Yizrael, Israel) received his MFA in art from the California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles and a BFA in photography from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem.
Toister received The Constantiner Photography Award for an Israeli Artist from the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, The Young Artist Award from the Israeli Ministry of Education and Culture, The Lovelace Scholarship from the California Institute of the Arts, The Overseas Study Grant from the America - Israel Cultural Foundation, and the First Profile award from The Council for the Arts, Israel National Lottery.

In recent years Toister has collaborated with Efrat - Kowalsky architects in Tel Aviv and with Stiletto magazine in Paris. Other activities include curatorial activity at the Bezalel Academy and at the Center for Contemporary Art in Tel Aviv. Toister lives and works in Los Angeles California and in Tel Aviv Israel where he is a lecturer at the photography and architecture departments in the Bezalel Academy and at the textile design department in Shenkar college.
Toister is represented by the Dvir Gallery in Tel Aviv.
