Justin Beal (b. 1978 Boston) received an MFA from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 2007 and a BA in Architecture and Design from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, in 2001. He also studied at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Skowhagen, Maine, in 2005, and the Whitney Independent Study Program at the Whitney Museum in New York in 2003. He has held solo exhibitions at ACME, Los Angeles, and LA>< Art. Beal was featured in the 2008 California Biennial held at the Orange County Museum of Art. His work has been included in group exhibitions at Bortolami, New York, Esther Schipper, Berlin and The Modern Institute in Glasgow, as well as Casey Kaplan Gallery, Tanya Bonakdar Gallery and Sculpture Center in New York. Beal lives and works in Los Angeles and New York.
