Cabessa was born in Morocco and grew up in Israel, and now lives and works in New York and Tel Aviv. Her education includes:1997-98 Cultural Studies at Camera Obscura, Tel Aviv, Israel.1990-92 Ha’Midrasha College of Art, Ramat-Ha’Sharon, Israel.1988-89 Kalisher College of Art, Tel Aviv, Israel.

Her work is in the collections of The Israel Museum, Jerusalem; The Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the Haifa Museum of Modern Art, The National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, D.C. and Texas State University.
