BIOGRAPHY

Alison Norlen received a BFA Honors degree from the University of Manitoba and an MFA from Yale University. She taught at the University of Manitoba for ten years and has received numerous grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Saskatchewan Arts Board and the Manitoba Arts Council. She has had solo exhibitions in many national and international venues including Rosemont Art Gallery, Regina, Confederation Centre for the Arts, PEI, 2003, the Quartair Art Comtemporary Art Initiatives, Den Haag, Holland, 2002, the Stride Gallery, Calgary, 2000, Plug In, Winnipeg, 2002, the Lake of the Woods Museum, Kenora, 2001, and the Winnipeg Art Gallery, 1997. Some of Norlen's group shows include The Eastern Edge Art Gallery, NFL, 2003, Two Rivers Gallery, Prince George, 2002 and Struts Gallery, Saskville, 2002. Alison Norlen lives and works in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
