BIOGRAPHY

Aaron Noble attended the San Francisco Art Institute in 1981-82 and, in 1991, co-founded  the Clarion Alley Mural Project, which he directed from 1997 to 2001.

Since 2000, Noble has been primarily engaged in an investigation of the abstract potentials of cartoon visual language, particularly the drawing vocabulary of American superhero comics. Using collage to break down the narrative expectations of the form, he creates lush, emotional portraits of ecstatic post-human states of being.

Noble has done permanent outdoor murals in Albuquerque, San Francisco, Los Angeles, London, Beijing, Indonesia and Taiwan, and temporary wall paintings at the UCLA Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, White Columns in New York, Honolulu Museum of Art, and the Davis Museum at Wellesley College, among others. He has shown at Blum & Poe and Track 16 in Los Angeles, PeerUK in London, Andres Guerrero Gallery in San Francisco, Pavel Zoubok Gallery in New York, and many others. He is a member of Booklyn Artists Alliance in Brooklyn. Aaron Noble lives and works in Los Angeles.
