BIOGRAPHY

I was named Igor ŠevÄuk shortly after my birth in 1972 in the city of Banja Luka in Bosnia, the former Yugoslavia. In the early 90's I came to live as Igor Sevcuk in between various locations in the Netherlands. After receiving my MA in 2000 from the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam, I was awarded first prize for film and video, de Prix de Rome 2002. While living in Utrecht I further developed my art practice throughout 2004 and 2005 at the residency de Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. I moved to Amsterdam in 2010, where I founded and co-organized the artist-led space Goleb. In 2015 I have initiated the development project: Klupko-Room(s) & Daily Art Situations

I have presented my works at, among other places, Westfaelischer Kunstverein in Münster, Art Space JungMiSo in Seoul, Kunstverein in Frankfurt, Gallery Sign in Groningen, Living Art Museum in Reykjavik, Public > (ex) in Paris, International Documentary Festival in Amsterdam, Kunsthall in Bergen, Museum het Valkhof in Nijmegen, Museum am Ostwall/ hART ware in Dortmund and Institut Néerlandais in Paris.
